Tell the CA State Senate You Support the Ban on Nontherapeutic Antibiotics.

You heard from us a few weeks back about SB 416 and we have some good news to report. Thanks to action by you and other activists, SB 416, which would ban the practice of using important human antibiotics in livestock and poultry, passed out of two committees. However, the bill now has to pass out of the entire senate by June 5th. We need your help to make this happen! Can you tell your Senator that you support SB 416?
In addition to prohibiting livestock and poultry producers from feeding important human antibiotics to healthy animals, SB 416 requires state and local governments purchasing meat and poultry to favor products produced without nontherapeutic antibiotics. It also requires school districts to report if they know that they are serving meat from livestock operations that use the practice.
The opponents of this bill are powerful so we need your help to make sure your Senator is informed with the right information. Let your Senator know today that you want him or her to vote in favor of SB 416!!
