Got Artificial Hormones? Your School's Milk Might.
Call Congressman Tonko for Better School Milk!
Our kids deserve the healthiest food possible, and parents deserve to have a say in what their kids eat. Milk is a staple for many of our nation’s youngsters, and it’s crucial that the milk served in schools be safe, healthy and free of artificial hormones. The artificial growth hormone rBGH is on its way out. This spring, Yoplait and Dannon announced that they're going rBGH-free. Now we need to make sure our public-school children have the same choice.
Representative Tonko sits on the subcommittee that the Child Nutrition Act will go through, so it's crucial that we win his support. Congressman Tonko can help get healthy milk free of artificial hormones into our schools, but he needs to hear from all of us.

"Hello, my name is __________ from __(city)_____ and I’m calling to ask Representative Tonko to support children’s health by including a provision in the Child Nutrition Act to clarify that schools may purchase rBGH-free and organic milk. Milk produced with artificial hormones poses real health risks, including increased rates of cancer, so it's crucial that schools be allowed to purchase milk without artificial hormones.
Do you know if the Representative has a position on rBGH?
Thank you for your time.”
